A journey through three regions! Just a short distance from Patras, get ready to travel back in time to admire monuments rich in history and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Capture the Castle of Nafpaktos, one of the most beautiful and well-preserved castles in Greece, where the powerful mountainous acropolis, the city fortifications, and the distinctive harbor castle are uniquely combined! In the renowned seafaring town of Galaxidi, its maritime history is so vivid that you can feel it everywhere—in the alleys with the captains’ houses, in the enchanting maritime museum, among the fishermen on their boats, and in the seafood taverns by the beach. Finally, we will arrive at the place where the two eagles sent by Zeus from the ends of the universe met to find the center of the world—Delphi! The city has been mentioned since Homeric times under the name Pytho. In the early historical periods, it was one of the cities of ancient Phocis, but gradually its role grew, and it evolved into a panhellenic center and a sacred city of the ancient Greeks. Delphi maintained its significant status until the end of the 4th century AD, when the operation of the oracle was definitively ended by a decree from Emperor Theodosius I.

WHAT YOU WILL SEE
Our journey begins by crossing the world’s longest cable-stayed bridge, the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, officially known as the “Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge.” The bridge, supported by four pylons, spans 2,252 meters, and with the access roads, it reaches about 2,883 meters in total length. The maximum foundation depth reaches 65 meters below sea level. It is an impressive cable-stayed bridge known for its remarkable strength.
Next, we will pass through the beautiful town of Nafpaktos, built amphitheatrically on a pine-covered hillside. Known since ancient times, Nafpaktos was a port and military center of the Aetolian League. Due to its strategic location, it often became the object of contention among its conquerors. Nafpaktos is famous for the Battle of Lepanto, where the Turkish fleet was destroyed by the united European forces (October 1571). The author of “Don Quixote,” Miguel de Cervantes, participated in this battle as a soldier on a Spanish ship.
After a one-hour drive, we will arrive at the stately and historic symbol of seafaring, Galaxidi! Galaxidi is a coastal village in the Phocis region. This noble town is built on the site of the ancient city of Oianthia or Halaion and boasts a history spanning 4,000 years, with a highlight being its role in the 1821 Greek War of Independence.
We continue our journey to reach the navel of the earth—Delphi! Delphi was an ancient Greek city that housed the most important oracle of the ancient Greek world. Admire the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, the ancient theater of Delphi, the Castalian Spring, the Tholos of Athena Pronaia, the ancient stadium of Delphi, and more.
